Although I may not agree with your stance, you bring up some interesting points. The penny may have had a great deal of importance historically, but this is the 21st century. I agree that it's important to acknowledge our past, but we shouldn't be lagging behind and wallowing in nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteI had not fully considered the historical/sentimental value of the penny, and this thesis made me reconsider my stance on the penny. I also liked how you focused on Lincoln as an important figure in contemporary society, and used that as a reason for the maintenance of the penny as currency.
