Wii Smokin'

Smokers in society feel that just a little smoke will not lead to death. Little do they know the more they become addicted to this “game”, the more it will be harder for them to give up the habit. Smoking, one of the leading causes of death worldwide is a fatal game in which no one can revive after their “character” dies. In all games, the player is asked at the end whether they wish to continue or not and is given a set number of lives, as exemplified on this cigarette. People who smoke, struggle with the same “game-like” situation, but similar to an addictive video game, each life lost is shortening their life span in society and on this cigarette. The fuming bud of this cigarette provides insight to viewers that a life is killed by the factors of smoking, more specifically, the fumes. The smoke looks almost like a ghost, or even a soul, twisting and turning as it releases from the burnt heart of the dying person. At the end, when all the lives are lost or saved, the game asks if the player would like to continue. On this cigarette, the “Y,” standing for “yes,” is highlighted, showing that the “game” will be played again. Therefore, the smoker chooses to continue the habit rather than being concerned about the harmful affects these fumes have and giving the craving up. This effective image proves that smoking not only kills the lives of the people who play the “game” but also impacts the society with this unending and killer addiction.
